Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering – Hybrid Remote / Manchester working

They’re looking to hire a Senior Lecturer in Software Engineering who will take ownership of programme delivery & curriculum within their Software Engineering degree apprenticeship pathways.
This is a hybrid role, combining home working with on-campus delivery from their Manchester site.
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across Software Engineering modules, using both in-person and remote methods.
- Lead the ongoing development & improvement of Software Engineering modules and programmes.
- Ownership of the Software Engineering pathways/
- Work collaboratively to ensure students from all backgrounds have the right support to succeed.
- Ensure teaching aligns with the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) outlined in relevant apprenticeship standards.
- Stay up-to-date, and up-skill within the latest tools & advancements within Software Engineering, and additional areas you’re interested in – like AI, for example.
Requirements
- Strong teaching, training or lecturing experience (Lecturer / Tutor / Trainer / Teacher / Educator / Professor / Instructor)
- HE experience is a plus, but training experience within non-HE sectors is fine (being a great educator is what matters most!)
- Experience working as a Software Developer / Software Engineer would be a plus, but strong experience of teaching Software Engineering / Development is absolutely essential
- Strong knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools (e.g. Java, C#, Python, or similar).
- Demonstrable experience in course/programme/module design or leadership.
Salary & Benefits
- Starting salary: £57,000 – £62,000
- Hybrid working – split between home and the Manchester campus
