Location: London (4 days a week)
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 base + bonus
Contract: Full time, permanent
A rapidly growing organisation in the technology and education sector is seeking a talented Strategic Business Manager to work closely with the CEO. This is a unique opportunity for a high-performing professional with a background in consulting, finance, or professional services who thrives in a fast-paced, strategic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Cultivate and manage relationships with high-level external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and public sector bodies.
- Prepare briefing materials and follow-ups for external meetings and events.
- Act as a liaison for Board members and investors, coordinating updates, reports, and key communications.
Business Development & Market Strategy
- Conduct research and build business cases for new commercial initiatives.
- Assist the CEO with corporate development efforts, including evaluating partnership opportunities and supporting strategic negotiations.
- Monitor industry trends and advise on growth opportunities.
Reputation & Thought Leadership
- Manage the CEO’s public profile across speaking engagements, media appearances, and professional forums.
- Draft high-impact communications such as speeches, presentations, and op-eds.
- Ensure consistent messaging aligned with organisational priorities.
Executive Operations
- Take ownership of the CEO’s calendar, ensuring effective prioritisation and time management.
- Lead on meeting preparation, agenda planning, and follow-ups.
- Handle confidential matters with tact and discretion.
Candidate Profile
We’re looking for a high-calibre individual with:
- Professional Services Experience: Background in consulting, investment banking, private equity, or similar environments.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Capable of producing high-quality written content and interacting confidently with senior stakeholders.
- Operational Excellence: Skilled in managing projects, people, and priorities with precision.
- Commercial Mindset: Strong understanding of business strategy, commercial development, and stakeholder influence.
- Proactive, Driven Attitude: A hands-on operator who anticipates needs and gets things done without being asked.
