Are you an experienced CIS professional with a passion for creating and delivering engaging technical training? I’m supporting a key defence programme in the search for a Training & Development Specialist to support the rollout of a new, modernised communications platform for the Armed Forces.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your technical knowledge with your instructional skills to help shape the future of digital defence training.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Collaborate with internal training leads and stakeholders to design effective learning programmes tailored to defence communications systems
  • Create structured training content including lesson plans, assessments, learner objectives, and instructor guides
  • Build a wide range of learning resources. From presentations and manuals to e-learning content and quick reference guides
  • Deliver face-to-face training to Armed Forces personnel, particularly Phase 3 trainees
  • Lead pilot courses and support capability trials to ensure training aligns with system performance and operational requirements
  • Work in alignment with MOD training standards (including JSP822) to ensure compliance and quality

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong background in CIS (Communications and Information Systems), ideally within a defence or military environment
  • Hands-on experience delivering technical training to adult learners
  • A solid grasp of training design principles and learning outcome frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you’re confident engaging with both civilian teams and military personnel
  • Instructional qualifications (such as DIT or equivalent) or a willingness to gain certification
  • Prior experience as a military communications engineer (Class 1 level or equivalent)

Would be great if you had:

  • Familiarity with Royal Signals or RAF Communications pathways
  • Exposure to digital learning tools or CBT design
  • Knowledge of defence communications platforms such as Falcon or FEEC

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a nationally significant programme, delivering training that will support operational readiness and mission success.
