Curriculum Designer – Automotive Apprenticeships
Location – Hybrid. Home-based with travel to Milton Keynes 3 days/week
Salary – £38,000 – £42,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract – Full-time, permanent
The Role
We’re working with a national training provider supporting a major automotive brand in the development of high-quality curriculum content for apprenticeship programmes across the full range of pathways – from Service Technician to MET, Paint & Body and other business functions such as Sales & Customer Service.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with an automotive training or L&D background who wants to focus on shaping learning content used across a prestigious, high-profile brand.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of a central Curriculum Design team, you’ll play a key role in designing and refreshing content across existing apprenticeship programmes, as well as developing new materials.
You’ll work closely with IQAs, learning coaches and delivery staff to make sure the content not only hits compliance requirements but is also engaging, effective and well-aligned to the needs of trainers and learners alike.
Your day-to-day will include
- Following the ADDIE design process: carrying out TNAs, designing lesson plans, building trainer guides and creating learning journeys.
- Producing high-quality eLearning, virtual classroom, and face-to-face learning materials.
- Working across both existing programmes and new curriculum projects.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of materials post-delivery and making improvements based on feedback and learner outcomes.
- Supporting train-the-trainer initiatives by developing trainer-facing guides and support packs.
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted and apprenticeship standards.
- Working with Adobe InDesign and other content creation tools.
What They’re Looking For?
- Background in the automotive sector, ideally with hands-on experience in a dealership setting (e.g. service, MET, P&B, or parts).
- Experience in training or coaching – either internal company training, apprenticeship delivery, or L&D roles.
- Experience designing course content, materials, or schemes of work – doesn’t need to be formal curriculum design.
- A solid understanding of the learner journey and apprenticeship standards.
Qualifications (preferred, not essential):
- Automotive Level 3 qualification (any pathway).
- Teaching, training, or L&D qualification (e.g., AET, CET, CIPD, or similar).
Please only apply for this role if you are comfortable in commuting to Milton Keynes a minimum of 3 days per week.
You must already reside in the UK and hold full R2W – unfortunately sponsorship isn’t available.
